Guest Post 'Fighting For Beauty' By Jackie Clark

Hi Folks just a quick blogpost today as I am so busy trying to get all of my work done to be handed in for may, ONLY 2 MONTHS LEFT! and then regular blogging will resume.
I was contacted via email by a lovely lady called Jackie who wanted to do a guest post on my blog on a very touching subject which is mesothelioma cancer, she wanted me to post this article to show how all women can still feel beautiful even with this devastating disease. I read the article and was truly touched by it as I have had two people close to me suffer from cancer and to watch them stay strong and confident throughout it really showed me how powerful us women are! Jackie wanted to raise more awareness to this compelling topic to share with all women who also like beauty and fashion that women can say 'Yes I have cancer, but I am no less beautiful than I was before my Diagnosis'

Fighting for Beauty
By: Jackie Clark

Most women love feeling beautiful and confident, but after a diagnosis of mesothelioma or any other serious disease, this can be difficult. Suddenly, your time disappears, you spend a great deal of your day in pain or in fear, and you start to feel less and less sure and less and less beautiful. If you are dealing with mesothelioma doctors on a frequent basis, no matter what stage your treatment is in, it is time to look up and to remember that you are a beautiful woman. Fashion is one of the best tools that you can use to help.

Why Fashion?
One of the best things about fashion is how inconsequential it is, and yet paradoxically, how powerful it can make you. The world does not end if you wear a less than flattering blouse or if your makeup is not quite right. On the other hand, putting on a beautiful blouse and doing your makeup just so can leave you feeling like a million bucks. You can use your favourite clothes and your most creative makeup tips to turn your mood around, so why not dig into your closet today?

Block Out Some Time For It
Every “fashionista” knows that fashion takes time and effort. It may not take much, but when you are in a place where you are invested in looking good while juggling a few million tasks, it can seem insurmountable. To remedy this, set aside some time for playing with your clothes and your makeup every day. Even if it is only ten or fifteen minutes, it is enough time for you to find some clothing that you really like and to put on at least a touch of makeup. Use this time to take care of yourself, whether you love a sheer natural look or a dramatic clubbing look.

Expressing Yourself
Remember that there is no one right way to do fashion. While some women feel wonderfully empowered by wearing sharply tailored outfits, other women feel best when they are wearing loose blouses and broomstick skirts. This is something that reflects the person you are, and which presents this picture to the world. Consider what you are trying to say with your clothing and your makeup. Being fashionable allow you to send a message to the world, and in doing so, you establish yourself as a strong, powerful, confident woman.

If you are invested in changing the way that your life has been going, start small. Even a little lipstick and your favourite dress can make a huge difference to the way that you feel. Make dressing well and fashion a priority; you’ll be surprised at the change that can occur in your life.

I have also recently watched a video by the lovely Nick on pixiwoo's You tube with her friend who also has cancer. These videos show us how these women are still able to look and feel beautiful whilst fighting against their cancer.

Hope you are all well and be show to comment about your thoughts on Jackie's article
